Pay It Forward

I stumbled upon Swistle's blog, and I LOVE the idea of the Pay it Forward contest! I was a little hesitant to host one of my own since I just started blogging, but I got over it and here it goes!

How it works: I will hold a contest until noon on July 4th. To enter just comment on this post and I'll randomly choose a winner to win a prize from me. In turn, the winner will Pay it Forward by having their own contest complete with a prize and condition to Pay it Forward.

The prize: A SURPRISE! (Mostly because I can't make up my mind!!)

To enter: Leave a comment telling me your most vivid childhood memory. Or, just say hi!

Hi! I can't believe I'm the first commenter. I'm so old that my childhood memories are very faded. None comes to mind right now. (um, that could be the Mommy brain talking too, (shrugs))

hmmmm...I remember a lot, but I guess you could say one of my favorite memories is receiving a rainbow brite purple and white bicycle for my fifth birthday...it.was.the.shizzle!

I really don't remember a lot. Other than doing cartwheels with my best friend in my front lawn to Manic Monday.

Manic Monday is such a good song. I remember pushing my cat around the kitchen in my toy shopping cart. Hi!

I can very vividly remember asking my mom in the morning every day before school to do my hair for me. I always wanted either a French braid or a side ponytail.

I still can't braid (French or otherwise) my own hair.

Hrm... my most vivid memories aren't really happy ones. I'll pick a happy one instead, k?

My mom used to take me to the movies on Saturday afternoons and before the show, she'd take me to a 5 and Dime and let me buy some penny candy. So much fun.

Hmmm... I'm not sure any memory I have is any more vivid than another. I remember spending every Saturday afternoon at the roller skating rink when I was in 4th and 5th grades. This was BEFORE rollerblades, because I am OLD.

Yay! Good for you for jumping right into a contest as a new blogger! Isn't this whole thing just a blast?! I'd say some of my most vivid summertime memories are spending long, lazy days at the pool!

Wow...I have loads of childhood memories...most vivid would be walking across the parking lot barefoot in our hotel at Disneyland trying to get to the pool and thinking that my feet were going to burn off before I got there.

building forts in the woods or playing kick the can with all the neighbor kids.

My friend and I walking home after school, except we were really trying to go to Italy (on foot). We got about a mile away until somebody's mom saw us and took us back home, where the police were waiting, along with our frantic parents.

Yeah, and if my kids ever do that to me, they're going to be permanently embedded with a GPS chip.

I wanted to see how my family would react if I ran away from home. So I hid in a closet for about 3 hours before they noticed. It was pretty disappointing. Maybe they knew I wasn't the running away type.

I remember listening to my mom read us Stuart Little when I was about 4. I still love that book.

My most vivid memory was getting stepped on by a massive Morgan mare who was frightened by a plastic turtle toy I stupidly set off in the middle of our horse arena. It was totally not her fault but I still have the scar along my shin bone

One of my most vivid memories as a young child is of me sitting in the living room while Mr. Rogers was on the TV, Puff the Magic Dragon was on the radio and my Mom was calling me to dinner. My three favorite things all at the same time!!

Grandma's house with my brother and cousins. Flashlight Tag, Croquet, good food, and family. The best.

I'm terrible with memories, I can't think of anything that I would want to post, so HI.

Welcome to blogging by the way, contest are always a great start (grin)

I guess my most vivid childhood memory is running after the icecream van that came by every saturday. I would run along with every (seemingly) child in the neighborhood and get icecream.
Good times :)

One of my most vivid childhood memories is building an army of snowmen with my Dad, with the snow on the cricket field outside the house. Also, my brother burying his football in the snow on the field, and then forgetting where it was. He never did find it!

One of my most vivid childhood memories is of one of our homes. There was a hole in the ceiling for a light fixture, but no fixture. I was convinced that there were aliens living up in the attic.

One of my most vivid childhood memories is pretending to be Laura Ingalls Wilder. We lived on a farm, and I completely wanted to live a pioneer life.

A vivid childhood memory is me crying on the floor at age 4 or so for some unknown reason with my poor dad unable to console me (my mom was out playing bridge) and my cat at the time walked up into my lap and licked my tears away.

I remember jumping into a rosebush to save my little sister who had fallen into it. I was probably about 5 and she was 3.

My most vivid early childhood memory is of playing in a sandbox with layers of different colored sand.

I was eating raisin toast and listening to a kids' cassette tape I got at Sunday School, and I said, "Mom, I think this is the best day of my life." I was adamant that I would never have another day quite so good. I think I was about 4. (Thankfully, I was wrong.)

I so remember playing games with all the neighbor kids - baby in the air, mother may I, freeze tag...games where you all just ran around for a long time. And we didn't have to go home until the street lights came on. hee!

I don't know if this is my most vivid, but my earliest memory is of throwing a lego in my mom's direction as she nursed my new baby brother because JEALOUS!

I loved having a summer birthday party at my grandparents' lake house when I turned 8 (I think it was 8). A family friend tried to teach me how to do cartwheels...never got it.
